The Xbox 360 is a household name in most parts of the world, and there are a few titles that are responsible for the feat. Leading the charts is Halo, a game synonyms with the Xbox brand from the very beginning but in November 2006 a new franchise came very close to Halo's success, most gamers know it as Gears of War.
This "Epic" game quickly topped charts around the world as the game was way ahead of its time. The Unreal 3 engine powered graphics brought to life alien flesh like never before, I still remember the first time I used my chainsaw to cut an enemy in half, my sadistic alter-ego went, "Wahoo". Gears of War is back with a direct sequel and this time its meaner and much larger in scale.
Gears of War 2 starts off exactly where the last game ended, with the locusts shaken but not completely eliminated. In a turn of unexpected events, the locusts start sinking entire human cities, thus cornering the humans to a corner. From this corner, we (the humans) decide to infiltrate and destroy the locusts from their point of origin, an area later known as the Nexus. The plot is very basic but what adds more character to the main story are the sub-plots, smaller stories that keep you interested till the very end, add to that a dramatic background score and you have Gears of War 2. The game is set in many places, including human cities, locusts hideouts as well as inside a rather odd biological disaster, in the spirit of our spoiler free reviews, lets wait for you to play the game and see this disaster for yourself.
