The new speakers-cum-iPod docks are meant for those looking for music-on-the-go
Logitech has introduced three new iPod/MP3 speakers under the Pure-Fi range namely, Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere, Logitech Pure-Fi Anytime and Logitech Pure-Fi Express.
The Pure-Fi speakers range is compatible with most portable music players as well as the iPod range. In fact, these are portable speakers-cum-iPod docks and are meant for those looking for music-on-the-go (so, it'll be safe to not expect bombastic sound).
These speakers feature the 'motion-sensing' technology and work as a good nightstand alternative. The motion-sensing backlight makes it easy to set an alarm without having to turn on the lights.
The alarm clock's controls light up when you wave your hand over the speakers and the buttons automatically dim when you're done using it. And when you want to get a few minutes of extra sleep when your alarm goes off in the morning, you can simply wave your hand over the speakers and the motion-sensing technology will activate the 'Snooze' state.
Pure-Fi Anytime features an easy-to-read display that is clearly visible during the day and night. A recessed dock helps prevent you from accidentally knocking over your iPod or iPhone. It also offers a digital AM/FM radio.
The Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers come with a rechargeable battery (claiming to offer 10-hour playback) with a battery-life indicator; a traveling case and a remote control, which offers direct navigation of iPod menus from a distance of 20 feet.
When an iPod is connected to the Universal Dock connector, the Pure-Fi Anywhere can simultaneously play music and recharge the iPod battery, says the company.
Pure-Fi Anywhere weighs 1.6 pounds and measures 3.6x13.2x1.5-inches. Despite the small volume, it claims to deliver dynamic, full-range sound quality with its dual 2-inch Max-X, high-excursion drivers with neodymium magnets.
Additionally, 3-inch pressure drivers maximize bass response and minimize distortion. With the combination of active and pressure drivers, the Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers provide crystal-clear highs and powerful, thumping bass, says Logitech.
The Pure-Fi Anywhere speakers come in glossy white or piano-black to complement the iPod.
This one runs on either AC or battery power, so one can just pick it up and put it to play just about anywhere. Pure-Fi Express also charges your iPod whilst it's in the dock. These speakers support all iPods, and the 3.5 mm auxiliary input lets you use them with any MP3 player. Also, there s a wireless remote control bundled along.
Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere is priced at Rs. 9,795, while the Logitech Pure-Fi Anytime is priced at Rs. 7,495. Logitech Pure-Fi Express is priced at Rs. 4,995.
The Logitech Pure-Fi series speakers come with a 2-year warranty.
