Canonical was not the only one ARM joined hands with. At the Adobe Max 2008 conference, Adobe Inc. and ARM announced a technology collaboration to optimize and enhance Adobe Flash Player 10 and AIR for ARM-powered devices. Their aim is to bring desktop-like experience to these handheld devices. The beneficiaries from this collaboration will be those based on ARMv6 and ARMv7 architecture.
ARM believes that this move could enhance a billion ARM powered devices ranging from mobile phones to set-top boxes. Devices based on the optimized Adobe Flash Player 10 and AIR will be available in the second half of 2009.
