From evolutionary changes to better features, the QWERTY phones to be launched next year have them all.
HTC S740
The HTC Touch Diamond was a stunner in terms of design. The piano black finish along with the diamond-shaped back looked elegant. Now HTC is planning to get that kind of style into the hands of the mid-level consumer. Enter the HTC S740. It's an upgrade to the S730 and a younger cousin of the fully-loaded Touch Pro. The changed looks are completely inspired from the Touch Diamond. It's slimmer but slightly longer than the S730, which makes it look more like one of those big-screened universal remote controls. It's lighter by around 10 gm, weighing 140g.
The looks have definitely way better than the previous model; this one looks way more elegant and classy.
Speaking about power, the device is more than its predecessor. Firstly, the processor has been upgraded to a 528 MHz one. Also, the RAM has been bumped up 4 times, to 256 MB. High speed internet is served by 3.5G HSDPA (7.2 MBps) support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and standard USB 2.0. Unfortunately, the secondary video-call camera is missing, which sort of doesn't make sense, since the S730 had it. However, the main camera's resolution has been upgraded to 3.2 mega-pixels. Lastly, added to the feature list is a GPS. It will run the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 version OS.
According to initial reports, while the slide-out QWERTY keyboard is somewhat better than the S730, it may be a bit too wide for comfort. This device will be placed in the upper-mid range (approx. 18-22k). Thus if you yearn for a cool-looking device that could satiate your business needs, the HTC S740 could very well be on your list.

We are missing on Asus and i-Mate offerings. Worldwide, motorola and nokia are not even considered for PDA phones. Black Berry and Palm use their proprietory OS and hence are not versatlie for all applications. We expect at least techtree to do a informed and comprehensive survey.
I'm not big fan of front QWERTY display so I'm not egger to see this phones in action. I prefere slider QWERTY phone so that front can be utilized for wide display screen. The G1 looks very intersting, I wont buy this version of mobile but definately I'll look forward to the second version of it.
if dayanidhi maran were the it&comm. minister, 3g could have been implemented so far. now we have lost the hopes.maybe the next govt. we can see no vital signs for 3g.
