Altec Lansing has introduced a new desktop speaker system - the Expressionist Bass.

Claimed to be the industry's first 2.2 desktop speaker system that features a twin speaker set with built-in subwoofers, Altec Lansing's Expressionist Bass (FX3022) system will be available at an estimated price of Rs. 5490 through Rashi Peripherals.

Connectable to a computer or a notebook with a 3.5-mm audio port, the Expressionist Bass has 1.5-inch (40mm) speaker drivers and offers a response bandwidth of 40-16000Hz. The built-in 4-inch (100mm) subwoofers are located at the bottom of the conical speakers. This neat trick helps in saving space and gives a bit of extra bass without additional components. You can hook up to CD, DVD, or MP3 players with an AUX IN Jack.

A 6-feet long cord joins the 10-inch high speakers together and offers flexibility of placement. The unique cone-shaped design with a rounded body enclosure is expected to result in efficient frequency response, which would give clearer and more natural sound quality. This design makes the speakers suitable for gaming and for watching movies.
