Just after Nokia announced seven new entry-level handsets for emerging markets, local player Intex has announced the addition of four new models to their portfolio of mobile phones. All four models are targeted at the lucrative entry-level segment and come with basic features.
The four new models are IN 5544, IN 4444, IN 2266 and IN 2010. Let us take a brief look on what these models have to offer in terms of features.
Intex IN 5544, the top specced phone of the lot comes loaded with a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2GB of expandable memory and not to mention, GPRS and Bluetooth. The 5544 comes at a price tag of Rs. 5,500. It has a talk time of 3 hours and a standby time of 200 hours.
Priced at Rs. 4,999, the 4444 is another multimedia phone positioned slightly below the 5544. It sports a 1.3 megapixel camera and adds a video caller ID option to the features list. Apart from a 2-inch display, it also comes with an FM radio, a music and video player with 3GP support. GPRS, Bluetooth and USB port connectivity are standard and yes, there is the option of adding a 2 GB expandable T-Flash card.
Both, the 5544 and the 4444 support storing of up to 1000 contacts with multiple entries.
The Intex 2266, a basic color handset comes with a music player and FM radio and 2GB of expandable memory. There is GPRS support as well for those who wish to go online and is priced at Rs. 2,999.
The most inexpensive phone out of this lot is the 2010, priced at Rs. 2,200, it packs in a lot of features including a music player, FM Radio, expandable memory and GPRS. The phone claims 100 min talk time capability and a standby mode of 150 hours.
