Canon India has announced a pre-Diwali launch of 85 new digital imaging products. This wide range includes digital cameras, digital video camcorders, printers, all-in-ones, digital copiers, software applications, cable ID printers, card printers, and more.

Canon has launched these products across its three divisions 22 new products from Imaging Communication Products (ICP), 28 products from Consumer Systems Product (CSP), 30 products and 6 solutions from the Business Imaging Solutions (BIS).

Present at the launch Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India said, "The highlight of this launch of the introduction of 10 new technology 'first's' [sic] from Canon."

Among those ten new technology firsts are:

1. D-SLR with High Definition Video: The EOS 5D Mark II is the first D-SLR which enables still photography even while shooting movies. It also has a live view function setting. Full HD (1920 x 1080) or standard SD (640 x 480) 30 fps movie recording is possible.

This D-SLR will probably compete with the Nikon D90 that captures movie in 1280 x 720 (720p) at 24fps with mono sound.

2. Digic IV Photo Processor: fastest processor for Canon Digital Cameras.

3. iPv6 ready: Canon products are now ready for the communication protocol -- Internet Protocol version 6.

4. Auto Photo Fix: This new Canon technology enables correction of still images while printing. Imperfections like red eye, skin tone, contract, etc. can be corrected while printing the images. This application will be found in Canon Photo All-in-Ones.

Along with the wide range of products, Canon also made entry into two new categories -- Cable ID printer and card printer. These printers will carry name of NISCA, Canon Finetech Inc.'s fully own subsidiary. Cable ID printers and Card Printers are exclusively used for printing and writing electronic information on plastic cards.

The card printers offers edge-to-edge capability for the production of drivers licenses, employee badges, government and college ID cards, prepaid phone cards, IC chip cards, and other identification cards and badges. Canon will be distributing these through a national distributor based in Pune called Onyx.

EOS 5D MArk ii is a full frame D-SLR which directly competes with NIKON D700 and Sony Alpha 900 forget D90 which do not have Full frame sensor and not come near to any of the full frame D-SLRs in many aspects. Now delte the sentence and this post also and try to show that you know something. Please do not write crap in the news. Otherwise people will say "Once upon a time there wasTechtree which used to provide proper news and good reviews." Wake up techtree teach some tech savyness to your staff....
