Thankfully, the underside has a matte finish and doesn't get scratched. This is good as this is the side on which the X-Fi Go! will rest during usage.

The bottom of the X-Fi Go! has the two required ports for earphones and for microphone. Both these ports are marked with the appropriate symbols to make identification easy. The provided earphones have plugs that have similar markings.
There is also a sliding button with lock and unlock symbols on opposite sides. This is to enable or disable write protection of the X-Fi Go! As you may wonder, this doesn't only look like a USB Flash drive, it is in fact a Flash drive with 1 GB capacity.
The software that comes with the drive is sensibly stored here, hence no disk. This space is also useful for carrying your custom gaming profiles, plug-ins, add-ons or any other files (including the drivers) easily and the write-protect switch helps prevent accidental deletion.
The software included are the drivers and Creative ALchemy, which ports the rich surround sound experience of XP to the new OpenAL sound model of Vista, ensuring seamless backward compatibility. There is also the Creative Console Launcher and the Creative Audio Control Panel - two different applications with the same functionality of making available at your disposal the various features of this sound card, although their interfaces are different.
