Virgin Mobile has introduced its 'STD & Local Calls @ 50P/Minute' scheme for its prepaid customers.

Virgin Mobile claims that with this scheme, its prepaid subscribers can make STD and local calls at 50p per minute after the initial 3 minutes of a call, daily.

Sounds exciting, but there's a catch (as always is the case).

When you make your first call of the day, you will be charged Rs. 1.50/min for STD, and Re.1/min for local calls for the first 3 minutes.

Subsequently, that is after the 3 minutes,

- all local calls will cost you 50p per minute.
- Up to 30 minutes of STD calls will cost you 50p per minute.

These rates apply for calls made to any number, mobile or landline, across all networks.

To avail this facility, users need not purchase an additional pack or pay anything extra. Existing users simply have to opt for this offer.
