As we reported earlier today, Apple's gameplan on the revamped line of MacBooks for India will be announced later this October. Well, officially at least, but for those who can't wait -- we have a leak at hand!

As reported by Smoking Apples, a Goa-based Apple Authorised Center -- Keystone has put up the new MacBook pricing on their website.

So without further ado, here's a look at the India prices for the new Macbooks:

> MacBook MB466ZP/A (13.3 inch C2D 2.0 GHz) - Rs. 79,700
> MacBook MB467ZP/A (13.3 inch C2D 2.4 GHz) - Rs. 96,500

> MacBook Air MB543ZP/A (13.3 inch C2D 1.6 GHz) - Rs. 1,07,000
> MacBook Air MB940ZP/A (13.3 inch C2D 1.86 GHz) - Rs. 1,49,000

> MacBook MB470LL/A (15.4 inch C2D 2.4GHz) - Rs. 1,19,600
> MacBook MB471LL/A (15.4 inch C2D 2.53GHz) - Rs. 1,49,000

Besides these, Keystone has three 13.3-inch white MacBooks and one 17-inch MacBook model listed at their store. Find the full price listing here [PDF].

we need to blame this god-forsaken country (all pun intended) where the rich are allowed to get a laptop duty-free into the country while the janta-log have to pay super high import duty for laptops coming in through normal import channels!

@ Amit: Funny, you would say that... most countries don't charge you any duty for the laptop u carry... so if you buy it abroad personally and carry it on you, there's no duty on it. But if you order it abroad and it is shipped to you, you do have to pay the duty like everyone else... whether you are rich or not is not even a question. What you can do to avoid the high Indian prices (an also the inability to customize your laptop in India) is to buy your laptop online from these manufacturers' online sites where you can completely customize (especially US, here the total price + taxes is till less compared to the Indian prices) and ship it to someone you trust in US and ask them to get it along when the come down. That is how I bought my Canon 5D DSLR, my iPod Touch 64 GB and my Alienware M17x, all at much lower prices than in India... but of course, I had to wait till my folks came down to India...which means I had to time my buys accordingly.

These prices are different from the Apple India website prices. Or the dollar is fluctuating.

U know..this article is a nice advertorial saying that the "Prices have got leaked". Ha Ha.please understand. still its a premium priced product and now shopping abroad and bringing in laptops are much cheaper alternative. Dubai Shopping Festival is around..just go and buy at 30% lower

Ram.. Are you proposing just "hopping across to Dubai" to bring back a cheaper MacBook? There's airfare, and other travel expenses involved in this sort of an affair, you know. Please don't suggest moronic ideas.

dubai sourced apple products have local warranty only. Global warranty is not available. Now why did I have to say this? Morons like Ram deserve to buy in Dubai!
