Virgin Mobile Slashes STD Call Rates

Competition getting fierce

Virgin Mobile has introduced its 'STD & Local Calls @ 50P/Minute' scheme for its prepaid customers.

Virgin Mobile claims that with this scheme, its prepaid subscribers can make STD and local calls at 50p per minute after the initial 3 minutes of a call, daily.

Sounds exciting, but there's a catch (as always is the case).

When you make your first call of the day, you will be charged Rs. 1.50/min for STD, and Re.1/min for local calls for the first 3 minutes.

Subsequently, that is after the 3 minutes,

- all local calls will cost you 50p per minute.
- Up to 30 minutes of STD calls will cost you 50p per minute.

These rates apply for calls made to any number, mobile or landline, across all networks.

To avail this facility, users need not purchase an additional pack or pay anything extra. Existing users simply have to opt for this offer.

Reliance has good option. when you rechage with 39/month you will get STD as 50paise/min. For all calls 1st min you need to pay 1.50/min, from second mint to end of your call will be 50 paise/min.

These are tricks being played by mobile companies. one should make note that they are charging 90 per month for making STD @ 50p, for using a 30 minutes per day. and the good thing is they wont charge if u dont use on that day. similarly for local calls one should pay 45Rs per month, which is not a small thing for a middle class people.
