We've been hearing a lot about MSI coming up with the successor to their Wind U100 Netbook. Now we know what its going to look like and what changes will it incorporate on the inside. The Wind 2 (officially known as the Wind U120) features the same 10-inch screen like the earlier model.

The design has been changed. Gone are the singularly-colored shells of the earlier model; the U120 now comes in two-tone colors. The black screen bezel looks cool and the overall black-and-whitish composition of the device makes it more suited for business professionals.

On the inside, changes include an upgrade to 120 GB of hard-drive space (as compared to 80 GB offered previously). You can also get a 20/40 GB Solid State Disk option. Connectivity options are expanded too since now it supports Wi-fi 802.11n along with a/g support. Also built into the machine is a SIM card slot along with a 3.5G modem.

While many would have hoped if the Wind 2 included the upcoming dual-core Atom processors, it still has the same 1.6 GHz option.
It is hopefully slated to be available by the end of this year for a price of less than USD 600. I hope the build quality of the device is better than the predecessor (especially the screen bezel).
