Design
Apple continues its stellar design with the iPod; the entire enclosure is composed of anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel. The screen feels larger than usual but is still the same 2.5' of the 5G iPod video. However, the screen itself seems more vibrant than before and watching videos on it is a pleasure. The scroll wheel is slightly modified here, the centre button is silvered and slightly concave, the buttons are easy to press and look great.

At the top there is the hold button that serves the standard purpose of ignoring all input when flipped, to prevent accidental input when it's in your pocket.
The dimensions are identical to the 5G iPod classic though for some reason it feels slimmer.
This is "heavy" for an iPod at 140 grams and feels rock solid. The only noticeable change from 5G in terms of design is the rounded edges it has now.
The device is the perfect size to hold in the hand. However, for those looking for an absolutely tiny sized player would do better getting a Nano, the only port on the bottom is the standard USB connector. The device charges via a USB cable when connected to a computer.
