This latest update also happens to be the first WGQL driver for the 9800 GTX+, 9800 GT, 9500 GT, and 9400 GT since June 2008.
Nvidia recently released a new WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) driver for its 8-, 9- and 200-series graphics cards. It has also added PhysX acceleration for all cards having at least 256 MB of memory.
The latest version, 178.13, comes as a massive 87 MB download - making it more than twice as large as the previous version. This latest update also happens to be the first WGQL driver for the 9800 GTX+, 9800 GT, 9500 GT, and 9400 GT since June 2008. For those with older hardware, note that all 6-series and 7-series cards are supported as well. People who have been skipping all updates until now might as well go in for the new version.
The update includes PhysX system software v 8.09.04, which supports PhysX acceleration on all the new-generation cards with over 256 MB memory. It also adds 2-way and 3-way support for GTX 200 series GPU's running on D5400XS motherboards.
