YouTube gets a few tweaks to its upload interface, options, and the maximum file size that can be uploaded

Despite being the market leader, YouTube had some glaring omissions in the form of missing features. This included the lack of multiple file uploads and a file-size cap of 100MB per video. Competing services such as Vimeo and Viddler, although not as popular, had better features than YouTube.

Not any longer. YouTube seems to be in a revamp mode with the company making its erstwhile closed-beta-only multiple file uploader as an option for all users. With the new uploader, apart from uploading multiple videos simultaneously, users can also add metadata like the the clip's name and pertinent tags while uploading them.

The file size limit has also been increased to 1GB -- although some users had the option introduced back in November 2007. Check the new uploader here.

Does it really make sense? Isn't the duration still limited to 10 minutes?? I would rather they increased their time limit to 20-30 minutes than keep a file size limit of 1gb!!
