Intel's corporate communication bulletin board 'Chip Shots' has news of the dual-core Atom for us: They mention that shipping of the 42nm dual-core Intel Atom 330 has officially begun. The dual-core Atom 330 processor that will run at a clock speed of 1.6GHz with 533MHz FSB, and 512kb per core (for a total of 1MB) L2 cache. The Atom 330 has TDP rating of 8W and will support DDR2 667 memory modules.

The Atom was reported to be part of MSI's upcoming U91 and U120 netbooks. Validated with Intel 945GC Express Chipset featuring Intel GMA 950 and Intel HD Audio, Atom 330 ships an integrated package for nettops. Soon after the Netbook race, the nettop race is about to begin. Stay tuned for nettop war can be expected in the last quarter of this year.
