A fine mess
Ultimately, the combat feels quite imbalanced and death comes all too frequently (it took us 50 deaths to finish the game). While death has no serious penalty, it leads to serious psychological trauma as you are forced to suffer through the woeful (and un-skippable) Valkryie cut-scene -- each and every time.

Most of the chapters end with a boss battle and even here the difficulty is extremely skewed and unbalanced -- favouring either the melee or the ranged class. We felt this way after playing most of the game using the Commando (balanced) class and beating the game using the Beserker (full-melee) class. In retrospect, it seems that this imbalance may be corrected when playing online, through the game's two player co-operative offering.
Too Human is not all bad. It's one of those games that you wish were good. It occasionally shows promise, only to fall flat on its face as you warm up to it. The core of the game -- combat -- is fun, until the game does something really stupid and annoying. The same inconsistent quality is also carried to the voice-acting and the story of the game. The game plays a lot better in the co-op mode since the game's design elements seem designed to be partial towards multiplayer. It took us around nine hours to finish the game and we were able to unlock many of Achievements during the first play-through itself. So there is little to come back to and replay either.
To conclude: in case you are looking for a new action game to play on Xbox Live, this might just be fun. For the rest of us, it is a rental, at best.
