You'll soon be able to search and use third-party services from within your Yahoo! Mail, and even from Yahoo!'s home page.

Internet services provider, Yahoo Inc. is planning to open up its online services to third-party Internet and software companies. The plans were revealed at a company meeting at its headquarters, according to the Wall Street Journal.

In order to make third-party sites more accessible, Yahoo! will be redesigning its home page.

Coming Friday's "HackDay" event for developers is an exercise for developers to meet, discuss, and develop their applications and services that will smoothly assimilate with Yahoo!'s home page.

There are other things that Yahoo! is working on to bring for its users in the coming months, like sending online invitations or photo albums from their Yahoo! inbox.

When Yahoo! does open up to third party content, users will be able use services like Amazon to download music from the Yahoo Music page. There will also be a possibility for users to add links of third-party sites and services on their Yahoo! page, reports the WSJ.
