The new Zune 120GB grabbed by Canadian citizen and the 8GB Zune appearedon Fry.com online store has finally turned into a reality.

Microsoft created bang by confirming the rumors and shared the details about new Zune versions.

Microsoft has pumped new Zune's capacity into two flavors - flash-based Zune will have 16GB storage and hard drive based Zune comes with 120GB and will be priced at $249 while flashed based 16GB model is for $199 and 8GB model for $149 expectedly. Microsoft is also planning to cut price of the old versions of Zune.

The Zune 3.0 firmware and client software will be backward compatible and have features like instant FM songs tagging instantly for later purchase which would be possible with Radio Data System information about artist and song. Also users can access Zune Marketplace wirelessly to stream, download and purchase songs.

With a monthly Zune Pass subscription users can also listen to channels hosted by music industry experts. Zune will come with two games - Hexic and Texas Hold 'em. Besides, Zune users can also download content from Overdrive.com powered websites.

For now, Microsoft certainly looks ahead in the portable media player war. Lets see what Apple has in store for us in its 'Lets Rock' event later today.
