After Vodafone, comes Bharti Airtel with an EMI option for buying the iPhone 3G. Airtel's EMI option is available to all VISA cardholders of ICICI bank, HDFC bank, SBI Cards and Citibank. Check details of the EMI option from both Airtel and Vodafone.
iPhone was launched in the country about two weeks back and is priced at Rs 31,000 for 8GB and Rs 36,100 for 16GB version.
Here's a hint for Airtel/Vodafone: An EMI scheme is nice; a price drop would be nicer.
I think it is a good thing. Now people will think about buying them. It is actually not a pretty bad deal. One of my friend in the UK bought the iPhone 3G for 0 pounds. yea!! he got it for free. But he has to pay around 45 pounds per month for 18 months which is the contract. that equals Rs. 3465 per month. Our Indian banks provide loan for Rs. 2583 per month for 12 months. So it is we Indians who have a better deal. dont you think?
Just a thing!! Wat is the avg income in UK?? And wat is the avg income in INDIA. So think abt it although we seem to change currency and think we r getting better deal. If he is paying 45 Pounds he must be earning 5-7K pounds!!
EMI??? What did Airtel or Vodafone do in this case for it to be credited to them. Its as good as banks pitching in to provide loans to customers. All the banks they have listed in the scheme already provide EMI options for repayment of credit balance on purchase of certain goods that include electronic items. And iPhone surely qualifies in that category. But they are surely going to publicize it enough to put the idea in the minds of the Janta... :-) ...
