While Xbox prices will see a major drop in the US come September 5th, Indian prices will remain untouched for the moment.
Gamers in the US have an early Christmas this year as the Xbox 360 is now the most affordable next-gen console in the market. The console had a major price drop of $80 and will now be available for $199. The Xbox 360 comes in three different variants, listed below are the SKUs and price details.
> Xbox 360 Arcade - $199
> Xbox 360 - $299
> Xbox 360 Elite - $399
This price drop will be applicable in the US from this Friday, 5th September.
We contacted Microsoft to find out how this price cut would affect Indian prices. While Microsoft 'believed' there would be a price drop in the future, they weren't sure when.
If implemented, the price cut looks set to positively impact sales in India, as Xbox 360 is still priced way out of reach for the average Indian gamer. The PS2 is a fine example, which did amazingly well once its price came below the 10k mark. We hope Microsoft is listening to this.
microsoft india should fire their marketing head for the xbox 360 for destroying the possible market.
1. Not adequate advertisement or promotion
2. Failing to reduce price cut
3. For not bringing in the Arcade version
and the list goes on....
he is no competent enough to handle the job....and Sony continues to sell more than the x360 which had a much bigger potential for the Indian market.
