Design and features

As I mentioned earlier, the Compaq is quite well-designed. On the outside is a pattern of geometric shapes, a weird amalgam of circles and squares, set among the inlaid metallic Q symbol of Compaq.

To the right are the dual layer DVD RW drive, twin USB ports, a modem jack and power connector.

To the left is a Kensington lock, HP's proprietary docking connector, the LAN, HDMI and eSATA ports, SD/MMC card slots as well as the Express card slot.
There's a complete absence of ports on the back, which is probably a good thing as the screen curves back over it. Having an HDMI output means you could stream HD videos to your TV without loss in quality. Transferring files to appropriate external media will also be lightning fast with eSATA.
