XFX Offers Various Flavors of 9400 GT

NVIDIA may have had a "can of whoop-ass" inflicted on itself by ATI in the high-end graphics card market, but it's nowhere near giving up the value battle.
The company has announced the release of its new GeForce 9400 GT - an entry-level graphics card that will replace the 8500 GT - starting at an estimated street price of Rs. 5,000 with a warranty of three years. Vendors like XFX and BFG have even started offering overclocked versions of the card, and prices may go as high (!) as $75 (Rs. 3300).
The card has 16 processors, and runs at a graphics clock of 550 MHz and a processor clock of 1400 MHz. It also supports HDCP, which means that for your Rs 3000-odd, it'll do HD movies (complete with HDMI output), it'll do Vista's Aero, it'll free you (and your system memory) from the shackles of integrated graphics, and if you're really nice, it'll even do some casual gaming.
It won't, however, do SLI. It also comes with slower DDR2 graphics memory, which isn't the best news. Benchmarks will tell whether it really warrants the attention, but we can read your thoughts right now, "It's cheap. It's NVIDIA. Bring me my credit card!"
