Gigabyte is working on a gigantic 6TFlops motherboard for Intel's Core i7 processors with Nehalem core, reports TG Daily.

They got their hands on the prototype board, which is based on Intel's X58 chipset, can support up to six graphics cards, has four PCIe Gen2 x16 slots and two wide-open Gen 2x4 slots. However, it supports Crossfire, and not SLI.

This monster board comes equipped with slots for six graphics cards and enables users to run up to 12 monitors at the same time, and up to four cards in Crossfire mode or run all six cards for GPGPU applications and floating point acceleration.

In terms of power, the board features a 12-phase power supply for the CPU, a 2-phase structure for memory and a 2-phase regulation for the PCI Express slots. Further, the board can support up to 24GB of DDR3-1333 memory, or 6GB of DDR3-1900/2000.

However, since this board is a prototype, modifications are expected, one of which includes the combined air/water-cooling block to fit six graphics cards.

As of now there is no word on the availability and pricing of this monster motherboard.
