No matter what alternative browsers you use, you will always go back to is Internet Explorer for whatever reason. The browser is so well integrated that there is no way of avoiding it. I often see myself troubleshooting website problems with it, or configuring proxy through it as most software pickup proxy settings from Internet Explorer itself.
Since it is something I use at least once a day, I thought of using a bit of Firefox methodology on it add-ons (extensions as Firefox like to call it).
Internet Explorer by itself doesn't allow too much alteration but there are many useful addons that can help to alter Internet Explorer to speed up, change default behaviour, add more security, etc.
Here's a look at the best of them.

IE Pro

A fantastic add-on, by far the best that IE has; it includes several features that enhances IE such as vital ad-blocking service, tab management, spellcheck, bookmark synchronisation, mouse gestures, crash recovery and lots more.
IE Pro also has a scripting feature adds more functionality much like the Greasemonkey script of Firefox. With IE Pro, Internet Explorer dawns Firefox s functionality.
