We review the 16GB version of the iPhone 3G. It is finally here, but has it really been worth all the wait and the hype?

3.5-inch Color TFT Screen (480 x 320 pixels), Brilliant multi-touch user interface, GPS, WiFi, 3G, 8/16 GB Internal memory, Push e-mail Microsoft Exchange, Officially In India.

No Video calling, No Maps, Poor camera, no video recording, no memory card slot, Very Expensive, No MMS, No SMS forwarding.

Hi guys, i got an iphone 3gs 32 GB which fell of from a waist height and the touch screen (digitizer) is completely smashed but the display is perfect and the iphone goes to recovery mode when i connect to itunes to restore it gives error 28, i would like to know how much would the touch screen cost + restore + your service fee !! i got a friend staying in your area and can have it sent. give me the price breakup. Thanx

iphone holders their is a good news for you........jailbreak the iphone and you can do every you want......you will be able to forward sms.....voice recording and lots and lots of many things which everybody think that they are not there in iphone......so enjoy your iphone...

Only a bunch of fools will buy the locked iPhone 3G 8Gb, 16Gb for 31000\- and 36000\- because Apple thinks people in India are crazy over their product and will shell out all their money on this crap gadget that even lacks basic phone features.

Apple has few limitations, but it all depends on what all applications have been used on daily basis. So it could be a -ve or +ve based on person to person. The way i am using, i think its fine with me as i am using phone for calling and accepting calls and on top of it i am using it as iPod for music, So i am fine and i love the interface.

Mail attachment are diffcult to download and read. All widgets that is 3rd party software to be downlaoded from apple store. No support for Java mdilet . Browser is superb and fully functional supports frames.Sound is clear . Price is very high latest Acre ONE note book can compete better against this. Battery is sealed and to be changed by apple service. In a nut shell "Apple Price" for an "Orange" taste.

We totally agree with u including my 9 year old daughter. I have changed my mind and will wait for N96 and prices in 3G phones to settle down. Anyway VODAFONE and AIRTELS have been fooled by APPLE already. They sold them hyped product on bulk with no technical background of Indian Market.

Best is to get a AT&T locked phone from US and Unlock, Jailbreak and Activate the device at your home with the ziphone software that has step by step instructions to do so and is completely safe.

In my opinion the iPhone 3G is not even worth half the price. I doesn't have features, an average Indian looks for. Complete waste of money if somebody buys it. I am sure, even if some crazy guy buys it, he reverts back to his old phone (Whatever it might be) within no time. Nothing but hype and the providers are greedy to market a useless phone at an outrageous price.

I HAVE a simple solution: buy ipod touch 8 gb at 13000 and nokia n 82 at 18000 = 31000...far better option than buying iphone....at 31000. IN this plan u have got best of both world.....

thanks, its a wonderful review and i have changed my mind of buying a i-phone, the features we indians mostky use are not present and we have nothing to do with 3g right now when we have something to do with 3g i think the price band willl be lowered a lot . lets wait and we should not get in the frenzy and hype created by the cheat operators in india.

Bravo....! That's a great review and really dugs out what one wants to look for in a mobile phone. Apple iPhone 3G stands no ground infront of Nokia N96. Nokia did a great strategic move by launching it before apple iphone in india.( I know it's just online booking at this point till mid sept. when it will be available) Nokia rules market share in India and will continue to do so with N96. Apple will get some share also as there always is market share from dumb buyers..and apple will surely win their hearts. If people can believe in Aliens and UFO's kidnapping cows from earth and milking them...then they will surely believe that iphone is better than N96!

The thing about Apple is that no one has it. Thats how it is being positioned in India - Not for the common ppl. Ironic when compared to the West where its vice-versa. My cab driver has Nokia, baby - big deal, but he doesnt have an APPLE IPhone.

Apart from the pathetic pricing of the iphone, was this a review?? All that i find in this review are issues which have been discussed threadbare a million times on other sites. Maybe there is a limitation of holding a demo unit in your hand, but atleast strive to convey more accurately data speeds on EDGE, battery life etc which accurately reflect the Indian scenario sans 3G.

Guys the price from both airtel and vodafone is 31 and 36k respectively form 8 and 16GB. Wondering why they are charging so much..... and needless to say guys inside the company have no idea.
