Design and features

The Pixma iP1880 is remarkably light for a printer at 3.3 kg and reasonably compact with dimensions of 17.4x9.3x6.0 inch. One odd factor is that there is no output tray so all your prints will fall directly on the desk. It has an entirely black, glossy surface and it does look stylish.

The input tray is at the top; it folds open and when not in use can be closed. It's capable of holding 100 sheets of paper; smaller capacity than usual but it's not too bad.

The unit has two buttons on the upper left side, one a power button and the other one can print test pages or cancel prints.
There're two cartridges, one for color and the other for black, this could result in increased spending on print cartridges as you will have to replace the color cartridge if any one color runs out. This is quite odd since most of the latest printers come with separate cartridges for each colour. This printer does not support PictBridge, nor does it have any memory port. The only interface provided is via USB to a PC.
