Google now supports eight out of the 22 official Indian languages
Google is adding local Indian language support to its many services. Google India has launched Google News in Tamil and a transliteration of Google Search results, Blogger and its social-site Orkut. The Tamil version of Google News will collate news stories from various Tamil sources on the web. The Tamil transliteration of Blogger will enable users to publish content in Tamil while using English keyboard for text entry. Similarly, the Tamil transliteration on Orkut will allow scraps to be written in Tamil.
In addition, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam have been added to Orkut. A total of eight out of the 22 official Indian languages, are now supported by Google Search.
