After the likes of Acer, HP and Asus, looks like Lenovo is keen on having its share of pie in the lucrative netbook market. Netbooks are low-cost, compact, cheap laptops directed at emerging markets where affordability and compactness hold the key. As for Lenovo, they seem to believe in "the more the better" philosophy going by the rate at which they are churning out new models.

Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 with two spec levels were seen at a preview show in New York. The two models seen are a 8.9 and a 10 incher with a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, both supporting up to 2GB of RAM. Other specs include two USB ports,VGA out, ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a 4-in-1 card reader. Storage-wise, there are 80GB and 160 GB versions with 512 MB AND 1GB of RAM respectively.

Lenovo is also planning to offer special versions of this netbook especially designed for teachers and students.

Will there be a Linux only version? I wouldn't like to pay for windows if I don't use it.
