MotorStorm: Pacific Rift sure looked impressive, but the game is only 70% complete.

There are a few perks of being a game reviewer, one of which is access to awesome games early (plus free cake). Yesterday I got my hands on a few juicy games including the highly anticipated MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. The special gamers' day included a bunch of titles on the PSP, some old games on the Xbox 360 (Dead Rising and Devil May Cry) and MotorStorm on the PS3. MotorStorm sure looked impressive, but the game was only 70% complete, so naturally there were issues. The visuals were definitely better than its previous iteration, but could do with a little polish. The core gameplay was promising, with some fine tweaks added, and the level design has been greatly improved.

A detailed review will be up soon, so watch this space for more info on the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.

The other games that got me really excited were some PSP titles. A PSP version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max was presented and it was ki#$^ss, and nostalgia struck me so hard, it hurt. SF Alpha 3 looked every bit like its arcade counterpart but oozed finesse due to the PSP's screen (we all love that screen, don't we?). Another compilation of all the old Capcom games on one disc called Capcom Classics Remixed was available for play, and this one had the old favorites in their original 2D avatar. The remixed collection consisted of games like the original Bionic Commando, 1941, original Street Fighter, and Final Fight (do you guys remember this one, if not google it). We will be reviewing all these titles for the PSP very soon, so get ready for a string of PSP reviews this month. A PS3 preview of MotorStorm Pacific Rift will be live tomorrow, so be sure to check that out.
