Hot on the heels of unveiling new versions of Kindle, Amazon targets the schools market with a large screen version of the Kindle.
Sometime back, we reported on the new Kindle models from Amazon.
Based on the comments that came to the original story on TechCrunch, TechCrunch has now reported that the new Kindle sporting a large screen may be targeted at the school and university textbook market.
One of the two new models has a large screen probably measuring 8.5x11 expected to come sometime next year will b targeted at the $5.5billion textbook market in the US. Even in this Internet age students prefer printed textbooks, the reason being no proper device to use the electronic books. Of course, we have e-readers like Kindle and laptops, but in the case of former the screen size is small so it starts irritating the eyes after sometime, while the latter runs out of battery rather quickly.
So hopefully, Kindle will work as a breather for those students and parents interested in making use of the modern devices instead of tradition versions like printed books. Readability seems to be the only obvious reason behind the large screen.
