AMD plans 12 core processors
, Jul 17, 2008 1155 hrs ISTAMD's recently unveiled 12 core processor codenamed Magny-Cours.
AMD's recently unveiled 12 core processor, oddly codenamed "Magny-Cours", is set to escalate the processor wars. This powerhouse is scheduled for release in 2010. Apart from updating its chips, AMD is releasing a new socket called G34 for the processor as well as 'Sao Paolo', the eight core processor that will launch at about the same time. The processors will also include 12MB of L3 cache, they might just give Intel a run for their money this time.
