    3G iPhone Spam Targeting Latin America

    According to Websense Security Labs' ThreatSeeker Network, the spam deploys a social engineering tactic that focuses on the hype surrounding the upcoming July launch of Apple's 3G iPhone.

A malicious email spam campaign has been freshly detected by Websense Security Labs; as of now, the spam appears to be targeting Latin America.

According to Websense Security Labs' ThreatSeeker Network, the spam deploys a social engineering tactic that focuses on the hype surrounding the upcoming July launch of Apple's 3G iPhone.

In the event an unsuspecting user clicks on the email links either for the promised presentation or for more information, he/she ends up downloading the rather innocent-sounding Trojan, "presentacion.mov.exe".

While Websense Messaging and Websense Web Security customers stand protected against this type of attack, Websense warns that the malicious emails are spreading rapidly.
