Interface

The HTC Touch Cruise runs the Professional version of the Windows Mobile 6. The handset has a powerful 400 MHz QUALCOMM processor, which keeps the operation of the phone pretty smooth. It's got 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM to support its high operations. In spite of all that power it does get sluggish at times. The Touch Cruise is a full touch operational phone and also has the option of using a stylus. You're able to use the phone for most of it without the need of a stylus but there are times when I really missed the "Ok" button, which is featured in the P3470. The "x" which appears in the top right corner and in the drop down list of running apps to close apps, gets difficult to hit with precision and that's when the need of a stylus comes forth.

Overall the phone is a pleasure to use through touch operations. Typing SMSes is simple and paired with the X9 dictionary, is very quick. There are two options here along with the standard keyboard and the handwriting recognition, Touch-Keyboard and standard alphanumeric touch keypad. The P3470 features a full QWERTY touch-keypad, which if included in the Touch Cruise would have been a much better option. I liked the listing of alphabets on the side when scrolling through contacts, as I can jump directly to an alphabet. Unfortunately this doesn't feature when adding a recipient in an SMS, MMS or email.

The Touch Cruise lets you write and edit various document formats through its Office Mobile section. PowerPoint, Excel, and Word are provided, along with Adobe Acrobat PDF files. When on a call, you have the option of typing notes, which may be found later in Notes under Programs.
