I remember playing the first MGS way back in 1998; I remember every tiny detail about the game. The game was beyond perfect! I had never played anything like it before. The intro sequence, the first level, everything is still fresh in my mind. MGS was the first game that made me believe that gaming is much more than shooting aliens or looting gold. It's been 10 years and today I review the last game in the series, a game that is as good as all its predecessors. MGS 4 is a true AAA PS3 title. It is the one reason that PS3 owners should feel proud. The game surpasses every other game in the market today, across genre and platform. It took 4 years to develop this game and that truly shows in the end product. I am a self proclaimed MGS fan, having played almost every game in the series. And I intend to play any game that has the MGS brand mark. In spite of the expectations and hype surrounding the game, Hideo Kojima has delivered a perfect game. Read on to learn more about a game that is truly beyond words.

The Plot
This is a spoiler-free review, which means I won't get into the details of the plot, which ties up all the loose ends left behind by MGS 2. Gamers worldwide had complaints about MGS 2 as it left the plot hanging in the air. But MGS 4 well and truly clears all those doubts. The basic plot is that Liquid is back and it's up to Old Snake to finally finish him. Snake, as most veterans and gamers would know, is a genetic offspring - a solider artificially created to be the perfect solider. Solid Snake's creators made sure that he would have a small lifespan, so he is aging rapidly and has less than a year to live. His final mission is to eliminate Liquid Snake a.k.a. Liquid Ocelot.

Almost all the characters featured in the previous games make a comeback in the game. Snake's loyal sidekick, Dr. Hal Emmerich or Otacon, as he is better known, is with Snake from beginning to end, even on the battlefield (see below). Another impressive entry is Raiden, the hero of MGS2, who was shunned by many gamers. Raiden is back with a bang, in an avatar that's so cool, you'll kick yourself for having doubted Kojima's vision. Raiden isn't the only one to return, you also meet Meryll and Naomi. I won't talk about the plot anymore, as it's something one has to experience. The main plot revolves around a world that is riddled with PMCs (Private Military Companies) controlled by Liquid. Snake has to eliminate Liquid. These PMCs have unlimited resources to develop nano machines that are injected into every solider. These Nano-Machines are used to gain total real-time control of the battlefield, so that the leaders can virtually control every solider.
