Game Modes and Multiplayer

The single player offers some amount of good gameplay but the true R6V2 experience lies in the multiplayer. I remember when R6V was released alongside Gears of War; I was more hooked on to play Rainbow Six than Gears. In R6V2, there are more than 10 maps included. A popular game mode called Terrorist Hunt is actually a lot of fun online and offline. You choose a map, the number of terrorists, and a difficulty level, and then go on a killing spree. It's fast, fun, and rewarding. There are many other MP modes like deathmtach and team deathmatch; another game mode involves capturing transmitters (similar to UT's Domination). These game modes are further enhanced with smooth online play and faster matchmaking. You can be online and fragging within a minute. There are no two ways about it; R6V2 is worth buying solely for its MP packaging.

There is also a new rewards system in place called Advanced Combat Enhancement and Specialization (ACES). Every time you kill a terrorist, you're rewarded points based on the kill. The points are dived into three different categories -- Marksman, Assault and Close Quarters battle. Scoring points in these categories lead to unlocking different weapons. Killing terrorist also gives you XP or experience points, leveling up your character. More XP points lead to more unlockables. You can gain XP by playing the single player campaign as well.
