The Monitor
The VP2250wb is part of the Pro-series monitors from Viewsonic and naturally, we expected it to be more than just another display device.
Measuring 510x388x309 mm (LxBxD) the VP2250wb's hefty body sports a 22-inch anti-glare hard-coated TFT active matrix LCD covered on all sides by a thin matte finish border. The panel supports a maximum resolution of 1680x1050 pixels. The panel has a 2 ms response time and maximum brightness of 300cd/m2. While contrast ratios are 1000:1 (static) and 3000:1 (dynamic), viewing angle is 160 degrees horizontally and vertically.
The front bezel houses the power and 4 OSD buttons. The buttons are small -- not too small, though -- and neatly spaced with the power button positioned in the center and 2 OSD buttons on each side.
The monitor stands on a sturdy plastic base that rotates almost 270 degrees and can be tilted towards the front or back; the pivot also allows you to change the orientation of the screen from landscape to portrait. The stand allows for height adjustment for up to 6-inches.
The VP2250wb has both VGA (D-Sub) and DVI-D input ports. In addition, it has 4 USB ports that can be used once you've connected the USB cable that goes up from the motherboard to the monitor.
Other features include OptiColor technology that delivers 106% color saturation for richer, more precise colors and PerfectSuite Plus control software that helps professionals in color calibration and enable auto screen rotation.
