  Version 6 of the iPod brings a marginal evolution to the table

  Huge storage space, improved interface, fast data transfer, good battery life, value for money.

  Click-wheel accuracy lower than previous models, bundled ear-phones could have been better, no major additions to the feature-list.

Design and Construction:

Right from the first to the latest one, the iPod's design hasn't changed much. As always, it looks attractive and is definitely a status-symbol type device.

However, it did undergo a slimming regimen after every generation. It's still a little chubby as compared to its flash-based, thin-by-almost-a-third cousin, the Nano, and gives you the feeling of holding a brick while jogging. Its weight will weigh your shirt pocket down, too. But then that's a logical tradeoff since you want a player that'll store your entire music collection.

In terms of construction, however, it has a solid build -- thanks to its stainless steel back and the new shiny anodized aluminum front.

The 2.5-inch display is decently large to watch videos. The touch-sensitive click wheel is right below the display

Although the display isn't as sharp as the iPod Nano's screen (since it has the same number of pixels packed into a smaller 2-inch screen), it's sufficiently bright and portrays text as well as images pretty decently.

I noticed, however, that the click-wheel's sensitivity wasn't up to the mark. At times, it would take a second or two to respond to my input. Overall, the accuracy of the wheel was a notch below the other versions I'd tried in the past.

Nothing has changed here. The hold switch and the ear-phone jack are on top. The proprietary charging/data connector lies at the bottom
