Earlier this week, La Vision Animation, a Mumbai-based animation, e-learning, and edutainment services provider, launched an exciting new global character christened "Buzziboy" along with the launch of their new interactive Web portal "Buzziboy.com".

The strength of "Buzziboy" lies in his ability to use brain power rather than brawn in solving day-to-day problems. La Vision claims this is a first-of-its-kind initiative to help nurture Gen-Now with the right kind of knowledge and values. Aimed at children between six and 14 years of age, La Vision claims "Buzziboy.com" has everything that might interest a child that age, i.e. eComics, stories, cartoons, fun learning games, greetings, club, chat, email, e-mart, and so on.

Speaking at the launch, La Vision CEO Ashish Maan said "Buzziboy.com" is a tool they're offering parents and teachers to help develop soft skills in kids as also impart value-based edutainment. Maan emphasized that "Buzziboy" does not talk about muscle power but about creativity and about the power of the mind in solving problems faced in day-to-day life. He said it helps inculcate a positive and constructive thought process in young minds, helping them grow with the right attitude, values, and knowledge.

Reward mechanisms too, are structured around boosting self-esteem via relevant prizes that take the form of payment of tuition fees, bank accounts and mediclaim policies exclusively for kids rather than the usual bag of goodies. Mann, who is bullish about the power of animation, intends to extend the Buzzi medium of delivery from its current online space to DTH/mobility and DVD platforms as well. For this purpose, La Vision has also put in place a School Connect Program, Mann said.
