The "Metal Gear Online" Beta is now available for download. Gamers who've pre-ordered 'Metal Gear Solid 4' and received a Metal Gear Saga Vol 2 DVD or voucher code from the Konami Web site are eligible to download the 741MB install file for "Metal Gear Online" or MGO.

However, even if you download and get the MGO Beta set-up, the playable debut of the MGO Beta starts only next week on Monday, April 21, 2008 (USA). It is scheduled to run till May 5, 2008. In Europe, the MGO Beta will be available for download beginning April 17, 2008 with playable debut slated to run till May 6, 2008.

"Metal Gear Online" allows up to 16 players to play online in myriad combat scenarios. The game's starter pack contains five maps including Ambush Alley, Gronznyj Grad, Midtown Maelstrom, Urban Ultimatum, and Blood Bath. "Metal Gear Online" also uses a new team system called 'Sokku' that allows quick access to information on allies.
