Skibi's Castle

This is an official map from Blizzard based on a popular custom map. It's a castle defense played between two sides; the objective is to defend your side. The first team to let 30 creeps go in loses -- a very simple plot, easy to understand, and it can be enjoyed even by new players. There are different modes of gameplay including a mini-game mode after each round that gives you gold. These mini-games can be simple as a race between players to as weird as killing ghosts. A very popular map, its fun and strategic at the same time.

Ship's Tourney

An odd, interesting map for W3. The idea is similar to that of most maps -- good side against bad, kill enemies, earn gold, upgrade weapons, kill more enemies, blah. The twist here is that you don't use characters but ships, assuming the creator is a big fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The game is pretty challenging, and with the right upgrades it can become very interesting (game upgrades, not beer). There are three lanes again, so its a team game, but unlike other games, playing with a ship is far more complicated. This is a game for gamers who want to try something new.
