Hot on the heels of the MySpace Music announcement comes this -- that YouTube (along with the Rolling Stones) is soon to launch YouTube Living Legends.
Music seems to have become a major preoccupation these days -- what with Apple iTunes just last week crowned the world's largest music store, immediately followed by MySpace launching its free online music service 'MySpace Music' in association with Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. Now Reuters reports that popular video-sharing Web site YouTube has followed suit; it has teamed up with veteran rockers, 'The Rolling Stones' to launch a new entertainment channel.
A statement issued by the legendary rock band and Universal Music Group said fans can address questions to the Stones regarding a new documentary 'Shine a Light' on their life and times directed by Martin Scorcese as also other burning questions. Fans can visit www.youtube.com/living legends and upload footage of themselves asking questions to Mick Jagger and/or Keith Richards. Further, the statement holds the promise of best viewer questions being 'personally answered'.
Nevertheless the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow definitely being YouTube's soon-to-be-launched music channel called 'YouTube Living Legends' that will invite top pop acts from across the globe, and already features a short promotional video clip of Jagger and Richards on the main page of the site in the US and across much of Europe and Asia.
