Hardly a week since Apple quietly went and settled a lawsuit slapped against it for issues with the color display capabilities of its MacBook and MacBook Pro computers. And a similar lawsuit has now been filed against the company in San Jose by law firm Kabateck Brown Kellner.

In the lawsuit, Kellner alleges that Apple's 20-inches iMac desktop computers are unable to display the "millions of colors at all resolutions" that the manufacturer happily promises as part of its adverts. Kellner claims that Apple's advertisements for both of its iMacs (20-inches and 24-inches) say that the models are capable of displaying millions of colors. Incidentally according to some sources, the 24-inches iMacs are capable of reproducing up to 16,777,216 colors because of their 8-bit displays while the newer 20-inches iMacs are incapable of reproducing as many colors because of their 6-bit displays.

The Kellner lawsuit alleges that Apple is duping its customers into believing they're buying 'new and improved' when in fact, they're ending up with 'new and inferior' models. All said, one can't help but wonder whether this lawsuit too will end up getting settled quietly and out of court.
