    Nokia 6500 Classic

Frazier Barretto, Mar 28, 2008 1510 hrs IST

This is a classy phone, though it does take more than a glance to impress. Well, does it?

Sleek, unusual looks, 1 GB of internal memory, sharp screen, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR & A2DP profile

No memory card slot, no FM tuner, uncomfortable alphanumeric keypad, expensive

Ever since Nokia began recycling their model numbers, their new handsets have happily been basking in Nokia's past successes. The Nokia 6500 Classic we are looking at today is another example, with just the extra bit of Classic, though, in the model numbering. The earlier 6500 had a flap over the keypad, which was the style back then for the sophisticated. Now I can't say if it was confusion for Nokia (about the form factor), but there are two versions of the 6500; while one is the Classic, the other is the Slide. Just that difference in form factor -- else to me they both spell sophisticated style. Right now we'll stick to talking only about the Nokia 6500 Classic.

its a disgusting phone at that price. This won't help Nokia retain its image as the best cell phone maker for India.

Not worth a second thought. The best buys for almost half the price and more features are the Spice S9 and Usha Lexus 888B. And the service is eficient.

This mobile is only meant for mobile illiterate ppl. who will not weigh the lack of features in this- only looks. Anyways Sony Ericsson K770i is a better choice- & if Nokia & then better to buy 2 nos of Nokia 6300 for this price only.

Will samsung file a suit on Nokia? Looks pretty similar to the earlier C100 from Samsung in design and looks.

very much true as i had that samsung model three yr ago and so i know how bad was the model compelling samsung to lift the model immediately from the market. hope the nokia 6500 will be a much better phone than that.
