"Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" Now Available

Speed racing onto the PS3 is Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Polyphony Digital's "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue", a prequel offering a sneak peek into the forthcoming "Gran Turismo 5" for PS3. Arguably "Gran Turismo" on the PlayStation has been one of the most successful global gaming franchises of the last decade. Add to it the power of the PS3, and you have a really explosive combination.
"Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" boasts 71 stunning cars including those by Lotus, Aston Martin, Subaru, and Ferrari for gamers to race on six near-real tracks including the Eiger Nordwand, Daytona International Speedway, London City Track, Fuji Speedway, Suzuka, and High Speed Ring. All tracks are drivable in two layouts -- all rendered in very high definition graphics. The prologue promises all new driving physics for an almost lifelike driving experience, complete with new and improved opponent artificial intelligence (AI) for that out-of-the-ordinary racing experience.
The highlight is that for the first time in the history of "Gran Turismo", the prologue title allows gamers to race online, thanks to the PlayStation Network. So, up to 16 players can go head-to-head on some of the world's best-known race-tracks. All that is needed is a Broadband connection and a PS3, and once you're all revved up, there's no stopping you from getting to the best of the best at "Gran Turismo".
Besides, there's "Gran Turismo TV", a dedicated online channel made available exclusively from the PlayStation Network -- offering some of the best motor sport content. And in case you're through watching live coverage, you can leisurely scour the "Gran Turismo Museum" that has on offer a virtual history of world-class cars that have starred at "Gran Turismo". Some other features of the "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" include: My Garage, a personalized home page, and Quick Tune that allows gamers to adjust power, tyres, suspension, and so on. Meanwhile, the "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue" edition for Europe will boast additional features like drift mode, in-depth car tuning, two-player split screen racing, and new race events.
