Notorious movie pirate "aXXo" has posted 'I am legend' on DarksideRG yesterday at 4:01 pm, indicating he's back with a bang after a long self-imposed exile.

After his last torrent on Nov 11, 2007, "aXXo" suddenly disappeared leaving disgruntled fans hard pressed to know the reason for his sudden departure from the exciting world of illegal movie downloads.

The rumor mills ran overtime; some fans thought he'd been caught by the RIAA or MPAA or some such anti-piracy body. Others debated as to whether the poor chap had met with an accident.

At the time, a Darkside Release Group administrator put an end to all the speculation when he reportedly said, "aXXo told us that he has decided to take a break, so you will not see new aXXo torrents anywhere for a while. Please show your support by keeping his torrents alive until he comes back, as always, he will post here first when he does."

And true to his word, "aXXo" has returned to post "I am legend" on DarksideRG. Subsequently, he's posted "The Mist" today as proof that he's very much back in business.

Incidentally, "aXXo" may truly be called legend. Before his self-exile, an estimated 1 million people downloaded his DVDrips almost every month. What's more, anti-piracy organizations uploaded fake torrents using the "aXXo" moniker, so did malware peddlers use it to send infested software. A wannabe pirate even "made hay while the Sun shines" so to say by using the "aXXo" name during the real aXXo's absence.

But now that the real "aXXo" is back, avid movie downloaders are excited as much as they were saddened by his departure. Meanwhile, anti-piracy organizations are bound to cringe at the news because he remains the single person who may have costed them trillions of revenue lost by illegal movie downloads over the Internet.

I used to download aXXo movies but in his absense i discover the real scene rippers which are of much better quality... aXXo just reencodes the stuff from scene... so if u want good quality and faster access to movie downloads ... then visit rlslog site for scene release info and download from your favorite torrent sites.. give it a try .. u will never go back to aXXo I promise

I am more than happy to know that axxo is back. Btw, for all those who support anti-piracy, i cannot afford buying movies in authorized shops nor can afford going to movie halls [Movie halls in bangalore are way too costly]. Thanks to axxo i dont miss even a single new movie. Three cheers to him.

While I feel sorry for the movie industry sometimes, 1 visit to a Planet M store and seeing a price tag of some 300-500 Rs for a single DVD makes the guilt go away. If movie companies want to make money, start selling new DVDs at Rs 50 max and old ones at Rs 25. That's the only way to curb piracy.

Let me share my experience. I wanted to buy some nursery stuff for my kid. I got an expensive two cd set for Rs600/- What I was promised on the cover is "Animated Nursery Rhymes" What i got instead is a bunch of college kids pranking around with an even larger bunch of toddlers and misc stuff. It was the worst piece of CD s**t I had ever purchased. I decided to approach the music company on whose label it was marketed and I actually got a nasty shutup call. Who are we spending all this money on.....
