A couple of sites such as Joystiq have hinted that there'll be a PS3 version of the game that will be Crysis plus 50 percent new game; essentially a "Crysis 1.5" of sorts.
For quite a while now, there've been rumors floating across the Web about a "Crysis 1.5" from Crytek.
A couple of sites such as Joystiq have hinted that there'll be a PS3 version of the game that will be Crysis plus 50 percent new game; essentially a "Crysis 1.5" of sorts.
The news (if indeed true) is very likely to put off PC gamers who might have invested quite a bit into getting new rigs to play Crysis Next. Now, they'll have to contend with watching PS3 gamers play Crysis and a half ("Crysis 1.5") before they can actually get their hands on 'Crysis 2' for the PC.
Crytek's 'Crysis' has been quite the money spinner for PC graphics cards manufacturers, with several gamers having upgraded simply to be able to play the game on their PCs. Crytek's 'FarCry' too is said to have created a similar rush to upgrade graphics capabilities, and was subsequently transported to gaming consoles with a lot of "new" game play.
In February this year, Crytek unveiled a cross-platform version of its 'CryEngine 2' at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), and showed "how well the fully optimized" engine could run on a PC costing about $600. It's not known whether Crytek ran 'Crysis' or some other game on their platform.
Coming back to: is it going to be a "Crysis 1.5" for the PS3? For now, it's just a rumor we thought we should keep you updated about. Any further development, and we'll let you know... Meanwhile, both PC gamers and PS3 gamers, keep your fingers crossed for the best possible outcome!
the graphics have to be severely downgraded for the ps3. graphics cards with four times the power of ps3 just about manage to give playable frame rates on crysis.
Actually, Crysis runs really well on any pc... you only need gaming rig if you're looking to max out the resolution at 1600x1200 with the quality set at very high. I built my pc 2 yrs ago and still runs pretty good!
Like the article says the engine itself was built to run on a $600 pc. Just don't max it out.
maybe not as much as u think... as it is always easier to optimize a game when u r working with just one set of technical specs like in a console, without having to worry about a universe of different graphics cards, ram, cpu etc. i am not saying it'll be as good as the pc version visually... but mite not be too much of a deviation...
