Adding to the clutter of social networking Web sites is the newly launched "Corners" Web site, which claims to target users across the globe interested in India and all things Indian.

"Corners" aims to add an Indian twist to the concept of content-based communities, claiming to make users go beyond just making friends on the site.

Unlike other sites that concentrate only on user profiles, "Corners" claims to focus on content. Users with similar interests will be able to connect, share, and enjoy content on topics, including movies, sports, celebrities, places, and products.

"Corners" aims to offer a unique multimedia experience that combines photos, videos, Blogs, talktivities, news, events, and more.

Users will be able to express themselves with the content they care about, and use their personal profiles to showcase their personalities. Users are defined by their activities on the site, with their profiles getting updated automatically based on these.

According to the company, the site is updated daily using a combination of "Corners" technology and the community. The technology scours the Internet for relevant topics and updates, aiming to offer the latest content at any point in time.

"Corners" is already Open Social-compliant, which is the social application platform launched by Google recently. "Corners" has also launched an application for the Orkut sandbox.

Additionally, companies and businesses can use "Corners" as a platform to launch their own social networks for their employees and customers.
