This Wireless G router lets you easily set up your wireless network and share your broadband connection.
D-Link India, a major player in the networking hardware segment, today launched a Wireless G router -- the DIR-300 -- targeted mainly at home and small office users. The device allows one to share a broadband Internet connection among multiple computers wirelessly by connecting it to a cable or DSL modem.
The router features Stateful Packet Inspection as well as a firewall, thwarting attack. A key feature of the DIR-300 is its advanced parental control, which gives parents the ability to restrict access to inappropriate content.
The DIR-300 also allows users to share an Internet connection via Ethernet. It is based on the 802.11g standard, and is backwards-compatible with 802.11b. It supports wireless encryption standards such as WEP, WPA, and WPA2. The unit comes with a quick router setup wizard utility that helps users set up the unit for their network and the Internet with just a few clicks.
Key specifications of the DIR-300 include Smart QoS, SPI Firewall Protection, Wi-Fi Protected setup, advanced scheduling and user level control, WPA (TKIP) and WPA2 (AES) support, support for VPN Pass-through, Interactive Install Guide, and UPnP Support. It is Window Vista certified and Xbox Live certified.
The D-Link DIR-300 is on the market, priced at about Rs 2,625 plus taxes.
