The HTC Shift is yet another entrant to the UMPC segment, which is fast garnering a lot of curiosity. It may not be as thin and powerful as the MacBook Air, but it does have its share of neat features. The 7-inch touchscreen display supports 800 x 480; there's 1 GB of RAM and a 30 GB hard disk. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz VIA CPU, has a full QWERTY keyboard, and runs Vista Business.

Connectivity is taken care of by high-speed 3.5G (HSDPA), Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 support. There's a 1.2-megapixel camera for video calls over a 3G network. A fingerprint recognition system is built in as well. It is expected to be on sale in Europe starting February 19 for $1,720 (Rs. 67,000).

Gigabyte UMPC available for 35K why this? and in INDIA no mobile service providers are giving 3G network. so it can not be used in INDIA. Techtree pl remember you are in INDIA, and for INDIANS.

TT has gone crazy .... HTC shift doesnt have a VIA CPU .. it has a next gen Intel 800MHZ ULV CPU ......and also has an onbord 400 MHZ mobile phone CPU ... so essentially its a DUAL CPU notebook (one of its kind) and 2 different Oses on 2 different CPUs ....... whose gonna buy a VIA CPU based UMPC for 67K ??? the specs posted are completely wrong... go to you tube and search for HTC shift to know what lovely device it is.
